About Us

We’re a consortium of BC school districts and affiliated educational organizations that provides leadership and support to members who want to implement technology effectively.

The organization is broad-based and provincial in scope. We build strong and mutually beneficial partnerships among school districts and their district administrators, teachers and their specialist organizations, independent schools, post-secondary institutions, government and private sector organizations.

Our members pay an annual fee (school year) based on the size of the school district.

For the period 2006 - 2008, BCEd Online is focusing its efforts on three key strategic priorities designed to fill existing gaps in service delivery to online teachers and students in British Columbia:

• Professional learning for educators who are interested in online learning and delivery
• Reviewing and implementing quality standards for online content and delivery
• Ensuring that established best practices for online learning pedagogy and delivery are integrated into course development.
