Math “Jelly of the Month”
Courtesy of an agreement between the Virtual School Society and eTraffic Solutions, you have immediate access to a set of learning tools called “Jelly of the Month” that can be of great value to you as educators and lots of fun for your students. Each “Jelly” is a math learning object drawn from the new BC Pilot Math program. They are animations, games, workbooks, interactive activities and Concept Capsules you can use in the classroom and/or provide to your students.
Don’t know what a Concept Capsule is? Concept Capsules give students a quick and easy way to learn key concepts. If you’re a math teacher, your answers to these questions will help you understand:
- Do your students need to learn a math concept?
- Need to brush up on some concepts for this unit?
- Need to review some concepts before the unit exam?
Here’s a sample Jelly. It is a Concept Capsule on using the graphing calculator.
You can build up your own personal inventory of math tools for use in as many ways as you can imagine. You can use them in online or distributed learning courses or you can use them in regular classroom courses. Or you can just give them to your students and let them invent ways to use them.
Each month a new “Jelly” will be available for anyone who subscribes. All you need to do to get them is sign up. And best of all, it’s free! Just fill out the form:
