Learning Community

The Learning Community, a facilitated, collaborative online environment, is open to all educators. It brings educators from inside and outside the province together where they share expertise, discuss related issues and showcase innovation in online and distributed learning and other applications of technology to education.

The community hosts and promotes online discussion, webcasts, workshops and other formats to share information about professional learning events and supports professional work spaces and sub-communities.

Other uses of the community

• Cultivating supporting professional educator communities of practice
• Polling, needs assessment and other forms of evaluation
• Networking and collaboration opportunities
• Sharing of quality resources
• Promoting current events and news.

Special Interest Group Use

The Learning Community can also be made available to support Special Interest Groups as well as project specific sub-communities. Currently, the space is being used for Content Review, Content Needs Assessment and the Connected Learners Initiative.
