Professional Learning Events

Educators have access to a range of online and blended professional learning events that give them a range of learning experiences. These events use a variety of technologies and delivery methods including, but not limited to, facilitated asynchronous discussions, webcasts, courses and online presentations. Some of these events take place inside the Learning Community while others are available through various providers. 

Symposia, Seminars & Workshops are provided from time to time. These may be delivered online, face-to-face or in a blended environment and include a full range of topics for educators involved with or interested in developing and delivering online and distributed learning.


Teacher Talk Online is a series of live monthly online ½ hour sessions held on the first Wednesday of every month which gives educators a snapshot of distributed learning innovations around BC.

Transforming Teaching Today is a series of monthly discussions in the Learning Community that deal with one core aspect of teaching and learning that help teachers as they prepare students for the imperatives of the 21st century.

knowWEEKS is a series of weeklong facilitated asynchronous discussions that focus on an online tool, website or teaching strategy that educators can use with their students.
